People say they want a person who complements them, rather than mirrors their own talents and traits. However, a new study from eHarmony reveals that we actually want someone with very similar qualities to ourselves. And the more we identify with a specific trait – such as intelligence or height – the more we want it in a potential romantic partner.

Interestingly, women care much more than men about finding a partner who shares their same traits, including ethnicity, education and income level.
