More men live with their parents than women, and at higher and higher rates as it becomes more socially acceptable. The Pew Research Center that 40% of 18 to 31-year-old guys (The Millennial Generation) lived with their parents in 2012, compared to 32 percent of women.
The rise of Millennials living at home is attributed to declining employment, rising college enrollment (they were counted as living at home if they were in a college dorm), and declining marriage. Men tend to get married later than women and some experts say that parents take it easier on sons living at home than daughters.
